Microsoft software developer revealed specifications and an
image of the first Firefox OS powered tablet. Leaked specifications of the
first Firefox OS powered tablet indicate that Mozilla is bringing a low-end
model to the budget-conscious chunk of the market.
The tablet, named InFocus New Tab F1, will be powered by
quad-core 1GHz All winner CPU with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU.
The tablet also comes with a 10.1-inch IPS display offering
a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
Other features include 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, micro
SD card slot, 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front camera, and a
7000mAh battery.
There’s also GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity but only
with support of 802.11b/g/n.
The Firefox OS tablet has been identified under the
codename, Flatfish.
Manufactured by Foxconn, Mozilla’s tablet could be priced
anywhere between USD 100 and USD 150.
It seems evident that Mozilla is not looking to challenge
the likes of the iPad and the Nexus 10, instead placing focus on emerging markets
in more price-sensitive areas.
