Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn recently said in an interview that next-gen Leaf will feature a double range compared to the ongoing model.
This enlightened us that the Japanese automaker is on a verge of major battery technology breakthrough, that will make plug-ins an attractive choice. Leaf as of now offers a maximum range of 125 miles (199 km) and with the new batteries, range will be rocketed to 400 kilometers (249 miles)! That's Tesla's territory, but Tesla uses 'batteries ...' to achieve it compared to Leaf which will not employ any additional batteries!Tesla Model S might be the super star in the EV showbiz, but Nissan Leaf is an underdog and indeed Leaf is the highest selling zero emission electric vehicle in the world. More than 2,00,000 Nissan Leaf has been sold since the eco friendly vehicle went on to sale in 2010, that's a lot for an electric car.
